About

what is linchpin magazine?

Linchpin Magazine spotlights people and companies doing work that matters, often under the radar of mainstream and business media. We tell their stories, if only to say that someone was paying attention to these Linchpins that walk amongst us.

editions

Our flagship, Linchpin, is published in January and July and spotlights stories of change and untrodden paths. Linchpins we feature have chosen to work on problems with meaningful, material impact on people and communities.

We also publish three thematic editions, symBIONTThe Shape of Work and Shokunin. Each offers a limited number of commissioned editorial pieces. Email Cyri for details.

symBIONT is published six times a year and features people and companies building the systems behind human and animal health, in the Rest of the World.

The Shape of Work is published six times a year and tells stories of founder-led businesses with distinctive practices and uncommon approaches to work across industries and geographies.

Shokunin is published in October and April and spotlights professionals so devoted to and invested in their craft that their work has become their signature. These include makers, creators, teachers, builders and practitioners from across the world of work.

how we write

Every Anchor and Spotlight story follows a four-step process: independent research, a preliminary questionnaire, an online interview, and conversations with the people who know you and your work.

Features are written with independent research and a detailed questionnaire.

We use AI to augment our research dossiers, transcribe our interviews, and collate drafting notes.

We write for our readers, so every story is held up to the reader’s eye before anyone else’s. Subjects are welcome to correct facts, while the story itself remains editorially independent.
