what is linchpin magazine?
Linchpin Magazine uncovers the why of things through people and companies doing work that matters, often under or beyond the radar of mainstream and business media.
editions
Our flagship, Linchpin, is published in January and July and seeks out people who have chosen to work on problems with meaningful, material impact on people and communities.
We also publish two thematic editions, symBIONT and The Shape of Work. Both offer a limited number of commissioned editorial pieces. Email Cyri for details.
symBIONT is published in even months and features people and companies building the systems behind human and animal health in the Rest of World.
The Shape of Work is published in odd months and features people from around the world building their version of work.
how we write
Every Anchor and Spotlight story follows a four-step process: independent research, a preliminary questionnaire, an online interview, and conversations with the people who know you and your work.
Features are written with independent research, a detailed questionnaire and occasionally, a follow-up interview.
Every em-dash you see across this website has been lovingly placed by a human. We use AI to augment our research dossiers, transcribe our interviews, and collate drafting notes.
We write for our readers, so every story is held up to the reader’s eye before anyone else’s. Subjects are welcome to correct facts, while the story itself remains editorially independent.
